Do I Have Lesbian Cardinals??

O.K. Here’s the thing. I have a very undisturbed backyard of two acres. So we occasionally see deer, armadillos, raccoons, swamp rabbits, badgers and a LOT of birds. We have at least three different bird nests with chicks every week. For the past couple of days I’ll be looking out my big window (which takes up an entire wall) facing the backyard. In the tree closest to the window there is a small birds nest. Two female cardinals (brownish-grey in color, and one has a bright red beak) fly constantly in and out of the nest. I’ve also noticed the two taking shifts guarding the eggs and cleaning each other… I haven’t seen a male cardinal in that tree for about a week and I’ve watched those two female cardinals like a religion. Is it possible to have lesbian cardinals?

Is there another bird that resembles the bald eagle? Wouldn’t it be unusual to see one in Oklahoma?

I am just sure I saw a bald eagle picking up a dead armadillo yesterday. It was a huge brown bird with a white tail and white head, yellow beak…looked just like a bald eagle. But I didn’t think they ventured this far south, so I thought I would check.
