Okay – I call them potato bugs, but apparently I’m wrong. What’s the proper name for those little grey armadillo-like insects that curl up into balls when you poke them? You can find them just about anywhere in the midwest and northeast of the U.S.A., and I grew up calling them potato bugs and poking them. But I have no idea what they actually are called. My friend calls them “Roly-Polys,” if that’s any help.
me and my friend went hunting this afternoon, and we game across huge hog ruts, where they make huge holes in the ground and hog tracks all around. but around it was a fresh pile of droppings, what ever it was…..was only a few minutes a head of us. the pile was slimy, and moved like jello, i got my knife (cause god who would touch it) and scraped some up and the inside was absolutely DRY DIRT.
we got back home and looked it up and the closest match we found armadillo droppings. is this correct?
and near the feeder is an old cow trail (about 15-20 yards away) with real soft dirt with fresh deer tracks… totaly ignored the corn, (no signs anywhere)…… up ahead about 50 yards was doe and fawn tracks, could that buck been to busy with the doe to even realize there was corn there?

armidillos? TEXAS this is armidillo country, ofcourse we got them everywhere, drive donw the highway theres roadkill every ten feet its way over populated, lol
my friend and i are quite interested in lions. armadillos are said to be attracted to lions. in thought of owning each we decided to get some info. please help. I FREAKING LOVE LIONS AND ARMADILLOS.
A friend gave me this gorgeous little lizard but now I’m stuck and don’t know how often to feed it…He is about 7in long including his tail and a few stripes…I thought he was a Armadillo Lizard but after looking at pictures on-line I realize that he is not…he is very friendly with me as long as I pet him underneath his mouth…My real question is how often should I feed him…and what else besides crickets should he eat?? Can I feed him lettuce?? Worms??
I have a 5′ by 5′ cardboard box that I need to send to my friend with as many dead armadillos as I can in it. the armadillos are about 1 1/2′ long and 1/2′ wide. I have 35 of them. Do you think I can fit them all? If not, how many?

The poor thing was caught in Clear Lake area, and my friend brougght it to me, I released it into an area of woods and a bayou, but the danged animal came back. Where is a good spot for an armadillo?
It doesn’t have to be in Illinois necessarily either, I am willing to pay shipping. This is for a friend.
