I don’t think they can be, but i wanted to be sure before i told her that i didn’t think so.

I heard that they do. Does this mean they are not safe to eat?
Can you get leprosy from armadillo’s?
This myth started because Armadillos are used in Leprosy research dut to their extremly low body temp. I knew the answer, but posted this as a test, and no one even came close. If you will go to Google & do a search for Armadillo you can lern the TRUE facts.
We’ve been experiencing the worst outbreak of Armadillos in our area (Southeast Louisiana, south of Lake Ponchartrain) that I’ve ever witnessed. I’ve captured 3 so far and there are more trying to get in the yard every night. I have gotten close to shoring up our borders (ha ha) in the yard and just when I was almost there I found a new hole underneath a brand new 288 sq ft shed building we had put up recently. I have been trying to reach under there with a rake and shovel to push the dirt back into the hole it dug and to access this area I have to lay on the ground at the entry/exit holes the armadillo dug to get in there in the first place.
Worried like crazy constantly about getting Leprosy, I’ve been spending an absorbent amount of time cleaning the tools, my hands, arms and anything else that touches where I think its touched during and after trying to get this done. The reason I wanted to put the dirt back in the hole is cause i’m worried that mice or other animals will crawl up the mound and try to gnaw on the base plywood flooring someday… not to mention the closer Earth is to the plywood it’ll put moisture closer to it as well.
Am I worrying too much? Would I have to touch the armadillo itself or could I actually contract it from where its been?
