I am planning on getting a new lizard but I am not sure on what to get. I have two bearded dragons, two tokay geckos, one crested gecko, and a three snakes. But i have narrowed down my choices to three lizards. Which are pygmy chameleons, armadillo lizards, and bibron geckos. Can you guys give me some adivce on what to get and which are not so complicated.

Cordylus Cataphractus is the scientific name for the Armadillo Lizard. I want to know if it’s Greek or Latin? What does it mean (please translate into english lettering)? and how do you pronounce it (also, in the english language and lettering)?
10 points, to those who get the answer right.
what about “cordylus”?

Okay, well, here goes.
I’m looking for a cold-blooded companion. At first, I thought ‘snake’, but my mother says no. So, I’m turning to lizards, because I’ve had anoles before, but they didn’t spark my interest very much.
So I’m looking for recommendations on a lizard companion. Preferably something that gets over a foot long, but not huge enough that it can’t fit in an aquarium of some sort. I’d like something that doesn’t mind or needs to be handled. (That’s why anoles didn’t work out for me.) I was thinking Chinese Water Dragon or Armadillo lizard but can’t find anything within a reasonable price range for me. If someone could advise a site or a person for me to talk to, that’d be great. If you can recommend a different type of lizard, that’d be equally as great. Willing to take care of whatever it is, have a bit of spending cash to spend on it, for things like hiding places or under-tank heaters. I know what it will cost and whatnot.
No iguanas. No leopard geckos. Please provide a site where I can buy any lizard you recommend, if you can, please.
And please make sure it’s in the U.S.
I’m not saying that the water dragons or armadillo lizards were out of my price range, just unfortunate word ordering. Sorry.
Mom doesn’t like snakes, not big reptiles. Leopard geckos are indeed too small and I’ve had a bad experience with my cousin’s…. don’t ask for details, alright?
