another math problem?

Eight basketball teams reached the quarterfinals of the March Invitational Tournament, in which a single loss means elimination.

The nicknames of these teams are the Armadillos, Badgers, Caribous, Ducks, Elks, Falcons, Gophers, and Hedgehogs. The teams were seeded (ranked) from 1st (highest) through 8th (lowest), then written into the quarterfinal columns on the left end of the table below, next to their ranks (which appear in parentheses).
From the following clues, can you figure out which team was seeded where, and complete the table to determine who won the tournament?
Please send your answers in the form requested below.

Clues

Of the seven games played during the event (four in the quarterfinals, two in the semifinals, and one in the finals), the higher-ranked team won only three times.
The Falcons were one of just two quarterfinal winners who were ranked higher than their opponent.
One finalist was seeded two ranks higher than the other finalist.
The 7th-seeded team was eliminated by the Hedgehogs.
The Ducks reached the finals by defeating teams ranked both lower and higher than themselves.
The Gophers, who were not the 4th seed, ranked just below the Falcons.
The Armadillos played more than one game.
The Badgers were ranked higher than the Caribous but lower than the Elks.

Writing scientific papers, observation, etc?

Hello! Well, I’m 16 and I am going to study zoology, the problem is that up to now I don’t really know to make a good scientific paper… I’m not looking to find new things or to publish my papers and stuff, I just want to start practicing since now because well.. Practice makes the master xD Anyway~
Like… For a physics experiment I’d have an abstract, the experiment, the results, conclusion and all that stuff, but I mean of a zoology paper, like, observing the behavior of certain animal, how they interact, etc.

I’ve seen many like this one:

http://www.science.smith.edu/departments/Biology/VHAYSSEN/msi/pdf/i0076-3519-161-01-0001.pdf

But I’m not sure if that’s how I should I start, and what is the correct procedure to making one of this.

Also, what would be some good tips to observe wild animals… I live in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, in a city were it’s relatively hard to fin rare animals, but iguanas are extremely common and Opossums are also common, so maybe I should start with those… I’d also love to observe armadillos but I’ve never been able to find one.

Word problem involving quadratic?

Richard is going to build a rectangular lot next to his barn for his armadillo. He found 280 meters of chicken wire that he could use for this purpose. What is the maximum area he could for Alice, the armadillo, if he used the fence for 2 sides of the lot? (and the side of the barn as the fourth side)?
oh wait…

i think it has to do with matrices
okay..

i have no idea what im doing

all i have so far is

3x+y=280
xy=max

i have computer problem ?

when i turn on my computer a error or whatever a sign pops up it says “this program has been protected by an evalauation version of softwarepassport/armadillo. it is not licensed for distribution.
this warning message will not appear on programs protected by a paid for version of softwarepassport/armadillo” and i want it to stop doing that please help

please help with this free fall problem!?

A startled armadillo leaps upward rising 0.536 m in the first 0.202 s.

(a) What is its initial speed as it leaves the ground?

(b) What is its speed at the height of 0.536 m?

(c) How much higher does it go?

so i thought i could use the equation
x(final)=1/2at^2 + v(initial)t + x(initial)..but it isn’t working! can someone tell me how i can go about solving this problem?

Could anyone help me with this physics problem! I am probably doing something really stupid, but i cant get it?

Here is the problem:
A startled armadillo leaps upward, rising .544m in the first .200 s. a) What is its initial speed as it leaves the ground? b) What is its speed at the height of .544m? c) How much higher does it go?
Please show me all your work! Thanks!
